Social Currency I See

Social Currency is defined by a brands ability to fit in with our media-centric lives. If we pay even an ounce of attention, we will see this on every social media website we look at.

Where do you see this?

I follow many different websites, brands, bloggers, etc. They all are involved in trying to get their followers interested in whatever they are trying to promote. Bloggers always try to giveaway a fabulous bag by telling you you will be entered to win by "following the bloggers on this account, tag three friends, and share this post on another site." These are really smart tactics to use because for me, why wouldn't I go follow a few people and share it, in the small chance that I could win a Louis Vuitton or Gucci purse? Another smart way of keeping your followers interested when running a small boutique business is doing random sales during the week and letting your followers know ASAP. Some businesses do Facebook live videos for sales on certain items- you comment what you want, they prepare the invoice and ship it to you. It is quick and easy shopping and it really is beneficial for you as the customer.

The fact that businesses are going to these incredible lengths to get people to buy their things is amazing. Social media has completely changed the fashion game for sure. I know from experience while working at a boutique, if you aren't very active on social media, your feed isn't interesting to your followers, your business slows down majorly. I think being on social media for any business is crucial, but making sure you are posting things that keep your followers interested in you is what will excel your business.
